The challenge

A temporary structure rated for six months of Riyadh summer, holding an immersive projection experience with 1,400 visitors a day and no permanent technical staff. Everything inside had to survive heat, dust and continuous public interaction.

Scope delivered

  • Insulated steel and composite pavilion structure with a stamped six-month rating
  • Immersive projection room with sound and scent
  • Six interactive stations with remote monitoring
  • Climate control sized for 48°C ambient
  • Six months of maintenance and content updates

How it was executed

Because the pavilion had to stand through summer, the structural spec carried a six-month wind and thermal rating rather than an event rating. That one line moved the package from a stand builder to a steel contractor and changed the entire supplier set.

Remote monitoring was written into the experiential spec as a mandatory line. Every station reports its own health, so a failed sensor raises a ticket before a visitor finds it, which is what made unstaffed operation possible.

The maintenance contract ran on a fortnightly cycle with a documented spares list held on site. Across six months the pavilion lost eleven visitor-hours in total.
