The challenge
A season zone is not one event, it is eleven weeks of consecutive events on the same infrastructure. Everything had to be built for repetition: stages that reset nightly, surfaces that survive 40,000 pairs of feet, and a maintenance plan that works while the public is inside.
Scope delivered
- 24 metre main stage with a wind-rated roof and ground support
- Themed entrance portal and four food and retail street facades
- Full AVL with nightly reset and a spares inventory held on site
- Crowd management, accreditation and evacuation for 40,000 a night
- Sanitation, plant, power and waste across eleven weeks
How it was executed
Nine packages, thirty-three partners contacted and eighteen invited. The requirement spec for the main stage carried a nightly reset line that most suppliers had never been asked to price, and it changed the shape of every proposal that came back.
The build sequence was published before any award, so partners priced against a real schedule rather than an optimistic one. Dock slots were allocated in fifteen minute windows for the first eighteen days.
Operations were the harder half. A resident technical team, a spares inventory and a nightly checklist meant that across seventy-seven show nights the zone never opened late.
The value was not the build. It was knowing, eleven weeks in a row, that somebody had already checked.
Service categories on this project
